Everyday Home Reviews exists to answer one question: of all the products promising to fix a problem in your house, which ones are actually worth your money?
What we cover
We focus on the unglamorous products that keep a home running: air filters and dehumidifiers, pest control, drain cleaners, leak detectors, gutter guards, and the rest of the hardware-store aisle. These are purchases people make when something is already going wrong, which is exactly when marketing claims are hardest to evaluate and a bad purchase stings the most.
How we review
We are a research publication. We do not accept free products from manufacturers, and no company can pay for a placement in our guides. Our process for every roundup:
- Spec and label analysis. We compare manufacturer specifications, active ingredients, certifications, and independent standards (MERV ratings, DOE capacity standards, EPA registration) so products are judged on the same scale.
- Owner reviews at scale. We read large volumes of verified owner feedback, weighting long-term reports over day-one impressions, and looking for repeated failure patterns rather than one-off complaints.
- Professional guidance. Where a trade has a strong opinion — HVAC technicians on filters, plumbers on chemical drain cleaners, exterminators on baits — we fold that into our recommendations, including when the right answer is "call a pro instead."
Every product we recommend lists honest cons. If we can't find a real drawback, we haven't researched hard enough.
How we make money
When you buy a product through a link on this site, we may earn an affiliate commission from the retailer, at no additional cost to you. Commissions never influence rankings — our picks are set before links are added, and we frequently recommend cheaper products over more expensive ones. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
